Celebrating SuDS - converting challenges to opportunities

This free event will celebrate the role of SuDS in a variety of contexts and urban settings, focusing on schools, community buildings, public realm and highways. The speakers have a wealth of experience, and have been involved in delivering SuDS and producing guidance for a variety of contexts covering retrofit and new build situations.

Further details will appear here shortly.

Background
This event celebrates schemes and projects that deliver great sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and placemaking in our communities. It will cover new build and retrofit SuDS examples demonstrating how they can become an integral part of the places, spaces and buildings where we live, work and learn. The event will also explain how SuDS can effectively be integrated with transport infrastructure, a combination often thought to be fraught with difficulties.

The event will explain how good design and effective engagement can underpin the delivery of SuDS that provide multiple benefits particularly in our public areas. It will demonstrate how SuDS can contribute to the quality of our urban landscapes, manage pollution from highways, provide attractive planting and habitats for wildlife, combine art as well as improve our school environments.
