Background

2016 is fast developing into an ‘interesting’ year for many contaminated land professionals.  Issues such as the impact of more frequent extreme weather incidents, new developments on technical approaches (e.g. site investigation), the proposed emphasis on  ‘brownfield first’ planning policy, the discussions related to releasing brownfield land on green belts, etc. are all likely to affect the way that contaminated sites are going to be managed in the future.

In order to make the most of these opportunities and tackle problems, contaminated land professionals needs to be updated not just on technical issues, but also need to understand recent developments in the regulatory and legal worlds.

Why attend
This seminar will :
  • discuss the implications of recent case law and other legal matters;
  • highlight technical and financial opportunities for contaminated land professionals and how to make the most of these;
  • explore how new initiatives e.g. the proposed ‘brownfield first’ planning policy could affect how contaminated sites are managed;
  • explore ways and areas where the contaminated land community could do better;
  • showcase what is good practice;
  • provide opportunities to network with regulators, clients and other professional advisors.

Who should attend
Clients, developers, house builders, local authorities, contactors, consultants, regulators and insurers.
