Groundwater control: design and practice C750 launch event
This seminar will introduce the recent update and second edition of Groundwater control - design and practice update (C515), first published in 2000.
Background
Whenever an excavation is made below the water table there is a risk that it will become unstable or flood unless measures are taken to control the groundwater in the surrounding soil. CIRIA’s latest publication ‘Groundwater control: design and practice, second edition (C750), provides information and guidance on dewatering methods used to control groundwater as part of the temporary works for construction projects.
This event will launch the second edition of C515, CIRIA’s guidance on Groundwater control, and provide delegates with an overview of the updates made to the existing publication. It will also explore other areas covered within the guidance including; Potential impact of groundwater on construction works, groundwater control techniques, safety, management and contractual matters, legal and environmental issues, site investigation requirements, and design methods for groundwater control schemes.
Why attend?
Delegates at this event will:
- gain an overview of the recent update and it’s changes
- hear clients, contractors and groundwater specialists discuss the effective and safe design, installation and operation of such works
- explore and discuss approaches through a question and answer panel session
- opportunity to network and identify future collaborative activities which build upon this guidance
