Introduction
The Flood and Water Management Act highlights the role that Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) can make in managing local flood risk with proposals to make SuDS a requirement in new developments. Awareness by practitioners and their implementation in developments is steadily increasing. Practical experience has led to a re-definition of best practice, and, a greater understanding of basic principles. It is important that practitioners not only have access to the best possible information, but also have the confidence to implement guidance and use SuDS within developments in line with growing regulatory pressures.

This course has been developed to complement current  regulations and the latest SuDS guidance (The SuDS manual). The training programme will enable practitioners to efficiently plan, design, construct and manage SuDS schemes.

Who should attend?
This engaging course is designed for those that are new to SuDS requiring an overview of the aims, benefits and the components. It will also explain the SuDS philosophy and main objectives.

The training will be relevant to clients, consulting engineers, local authorities, highway authorities, developers, sewerage  undertakers, landscape architects, contractors, planners, architects, environmental regulators and manufacturers and suppliers.

Why should you attend?
  • keep up-to-date with current legislation and requirements of regulatory authorities
  • learn most up to date design concepts
  • understand key principles, aims and how to apply the SuDS approach using real life case studies
