Overview
 
There is a growing recognition of the need to consider the built environment and particular civil infrastructure as a complex “system of systems”. A number of research initiatives have been looking at providing a better understanding of the complex interactions and subsequent asset management challenges associated with infrastructure in the built environment.
 
This event will explore the complex interaction between infrastructure systems at a city and local scale, covering the complex engineering and ownership issues that arise in the management of legacy assets. Case studies of innovative approaches to the integrated management of infrastructure assets will be highlighted.

The Highways Agency has recognised the importance of reliable and current asset data and has embarked upon a programme to update all of its asset data records with CH2M Hill. Initial results of this programme will be presented together with how advanced technologies were deployed benefitting the wider organisation and supply chain.
