CIRIA is a well-respected, member-based, research organisation which, for 50 years, has been delivering support and best practice guidance to the construction, built environment and infrastructure sectors.  CIRIA works with leading clients, consultants, contractors, public sector bodies and academia to encourage and support innovation and performance improvement through collaborative projects, publications, training, networks, events and conferences.


CIRIA’s members include representatives from all parts of the supply chains of the modern built environment, covering building and civil engineering as well as transport and utilities infrastructure. About the position

Working as part of the research team, Project Assistants support the delivery of CIRIA’s research with the opportunity to:

  • Work across all aspects relating to the development and delivery of CIRIA’s activities
  • Engage in activities spanning a wide range of technical, process and sustainability topics
  • Attend workshops and meetings with senior industry pracitioners providing an excellent insight into the construction industry
  • Support project and event development
  • Engage in project, event and network delivery
  • Work in the preparation of reports and publications

About You


We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a genuine interest in becoming involved in construction and the built environment sector.

  • Confident communicator with great interpersonal skills
  • Good writing, numerate and problem-solving skills
  • Highly capable IT user, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with on-line surveys, web page construction, databases and similar applications would be an advantage
  • Educated to degree level with a good grade in a topic relevant to construction and the built  environment or other earth science / numerate subject. .
  • An interest in construction and the built environment
